Disney Store - Best Of Show Plush Collection

I think it is high time to put up my first non-introductory journal on this account.  I have been talking back and forth with solitaryzombie about the Best Of Show plush line that was available at the Disney Store several years back.  While I don't have an interest in going out and acquiring all of these particular plush animals for myself, I do find them a fascinating collection and am curious to know more about them.  Because there is basically no info on the web that covers this line of plushes, I decided to take it into my own hands and write up what I know of them as well as provide a listing of all known Best Of Show animals.


What Is Best Of Show?

"Best Of Show" is the name of a collection of plush Disney animal characters that were released for sale at the Disney Store (and probably the Disney parks) in the early 2000s.  They are no longer available except on the second-hand market.  Some of the plushes in this line are fairly rare.


How Do I Know If My Disney Plush Is From The Best Of Show Line?

And how do you know if you've got an authentic Best Of Show plush?  If you are lucky enough to have one of these new with hang tags, the first and most noticeable feature all the plushes in this collection have is 1.) a large blue ribbon with shiny medallion-like gold top that says "Disney's Best Of Show" on it.  In addition to this tag, they also came with 2.) a shiny-rimmed square tag featuring a scene from the movie they were from and some character info on the back.  If your plush was purchased or found used and they no longer have their either of their hang tags, fear not, there are still a couple very good ways to determine if your plush is a Best In Show.  The next most noticeable thing all these plushes have in common is 3.) a collar made of brightly colored felt-like fabric that comes with a felt-like ID tag on which that character's name will be embroidered.  Exceptions to this would be O'Malley and Duchess from Aristocats or Percy from Pocahontas who have specially decorated collars but still have the yellow ID tags that bear their names.  It is also interesting to note, the dogs of this collection have diamond-shaped ID tags and the cats' ID tags are circular.  The plushes in this line also 4.) all have embroidered eyes.  The final identification tip would be to check out the seam tags.  The two Best Of Show plushes I have 5.) each have three seam tags: one with their movie title and name on it, one with the Disney Store logo, and a third for the item barcode and item description (though they are not always sewn into the plush in that exact order.  My Scamp and Angel plushes have the tag with the name and movie title on the very bottom of the three).  The seam tags should look something like this: i16.photobucket.com/albums/b35…


What Are All The Different Plushes In This Collection?

There seems to have been a great deal more of these made than I imagined when I started seeing them popping up here and there on eBay and I am still finding new ones that I had no idea existed.  Please, if you know of or own a Best Of Show plush that is not listed here, let me know the character, its size, the color of its collar, and, if possible, include an image of it as well.  I would like to make this list as complete as possible.

Another interesting fact about these is that a mini Best Of Show line also seems to have been in production at one point.  This can be seen with the two different sized Jock plushes and the Three Orphan Kittens .
