I have never seen one of these in plush form before. 
This was one of the finds from last night's treasure hunting at one of my local thrift stores. I had to get him because, come on now, no serious plush collector's collection is complete without one of these glorious seabirds, right? 
Being seabirds, they are naturally clumsy on land. Because of this, the Spanish called them "bobo" which means stupid or fool and from that, the name "booby" was derived. Boobies are related to gannets and live along the Pacific coast of Central America and north western South America.

I'm dying to find a thrift store in the town I just moved to. So far unsuccessful, so I've resorted to taking a two-hour bus ride all the way back up to my dad's house just so my older sis and I can rummage through the toy pile of the Salvation Army store. A blue-footed booby is certainly never like anything I've come across yet, but I did find a pretty big Aurora stuffed cow that I picked up for my mom. C:
